    Intermittent Fasting, or IF for short, is based around taking a break from eating on a semi regular basis

    The most traditional approach of using intermittent fasting is to to take a day off from eating every 48 hours. In simple terms this means you eat as normal on Thursday and then take a break form eating the next day so in this case you would not eat on Friday. You would then resume eating as normal on the Saturday and then once again fasting on the Sunday.This day on, day off method of Intermittent Fasting restricts calories over the week becaise you have periods where you are not consuming any food at all.

    The Strict method of Intermittent Fasting which I have described above will produce weight loss providing your overall calories are below your daily bmr, but in my view I feel this method is too restrictive for anyone to follow long term. We are all different, but for me, I find that always having a fasting day fall on a weekend would be impossible to follow most of the time. It just does not fit my lifestyle. While I have used intermittent fasting on weekends, I would not like the idea of having to do it that way every weekend.
