Men are you tired of hearing about how flat your stomach used to be and how the heaviest thing you lift now is your gut over your belt? If so, thats about to change, as I (drum roll please) am about to show you How to Get Rid of the Beer Belly without Giving Up Beer! Now let’s get down to defining what a beer belly really is and determine if it is really caused by beer.

So, what is a beer belly? A beer belly is defined as a lump of fat thats taken up residence between your chest and what used to be your waist. Is it caused by beer? No. Science has proven the beer belly is fat caused by calorie build up, resulting from unhealthy diets and sedentary lifestyles. The abdomen is where men have their greatest deposit of fat cells so, if the body takes in a lot of calories and neglects to burn them through exercise, the body deposits that fat right in your stomach.

Now you know where the beer belly or should I say the hot wings belly comes from, next you have to decide what you are willing to do to reverse the curse. You can start by working on those fat cells that are spreading themselves on your stomach. Beer is not the direct cause of your waistline expanding, but it can be a factor. Alcohol makes you hungry, think Hot wings and Beer at Hooters (I mean the food is why you go, right?), so if you stopped drinking youd be taking a good step towards cutting down your calorie intake.

Cut the beer and you cut the increased appetite, but since this article is about How to Get Rid of the Beer Belly without Giving Up Beer, I wont try to convince you to stop. But you need to switch to either a beer with fewer calories or exercise more than you drink to balance out the increased calories. Exercising more than you drink sounds too much like hard work, so well skip that too and just focus on reducing the amount of calories taken in by looking at the best beers for your waist.

The first thought that probably comes to your mind when somebody says low calorie beer is those light beers that taste terrible. This article is not going to try to convince you of those beers, because we all know that real men don’t drink such girly drinks.

So first up is a nice dark Guinness Draught, boasting 125 calories and 10 carbs its not a light beer but it does have a low calorie count and you wont have to drink 10 of them to make up for the lack of taste. Next up is Beamish Irish Stout, it has 131 calories but you still arent losing anything in the taste and your waist is happy. So drink responsibly and finish up with Busch, it has 133 calories and about 10 carbs.

Now you know what you can do to get rid of that beer belly without getting rid of the beer. As a matter of fact, the next time your wife or girlfriend or your mother tells you to get from in front of the television and lose some weight, go to the fridge, grab yourself a cold one and tell her you’re working on it right now!

Dorthy Weatherbush is an expert on weight loss for specific body types and has studied the effect genetics has on how people lose weight.
David Cutcliffe made a sharp coaching choice by promptly announcing Sunday that Thad Lewis would be his starter for this week’s battle with the Kansas Jayhawks.

Although I have only one issue with the way Cutcliffe went about it. It mainly is such a minor thing and I hesitated to even mention it, but felt compelled to do it.

Cutcliffe confirmed Lewis was one of a variety of players who had caught the flu and sat out in practice time.

If you tell me Lewis is a hero, I am okay with that, essentially since I don’t have a choice and you can care less what my belief is. Although there’s additionally the fact that you are the head coach/quarterback expert and identify more than I will ever understand regarding that position.

There is no need to tell me Lewis is not 100 percent.

He obviously said he didn’t want to create a qb debate, but, as the majority of people identify, quarterback controversies 9 times out of ten are started by enthusiasts and news organizations, not coaches.

If a qb debate manifests as a result of Renfree’s good play and Lewis’ not so nice play then deal with it if the questions come.

While I agree with his choice and swiftness of it he can have opened up a small door for criticism of his starter.

If Lewis doesn’t play well at Kansas then Cutcliffe will certainly receive questions regarding whether or not Lewis is 100 percent and if he is not, why isn’t Renfree playing in the game?.

So with respect to the coach’s sake I hope Lewis steps up and wins or has a nice game, because the last thing Duke needs at present in the wake of the great motivator of besting Army is a controversy.

Just ask Coach K if you are in search of a second opinion. He has had to deal with one or 2 of situations like this one.

1. Drew Brees: Brees was simply the best quarterback in the NFL last year, and he’s a superstar. Especially when it comes to fantasy leagues. Brees had a handful of monster games last season, and it’s safe to say that this season should be no different. Bonus points when you factor in Colston’s return.

2. Tom Brady: I’d be tempted to put him at #1, but his rustiness could be an issue at the beginning of the season and it remains to be seen how well he’s recovered from injury. He’s looked strong in the preseason, but that’s no sure thing. Now that we’ve thrown out the risk factors, Brady is a fantasy stud and could easily be the best in football.

3. Peyton Manning – QB – Indianapolis Colts: 371/555, 4,002 Yards, 27 TD’s, 12 INT’s, 4 300 YD Games: Peyton Manning has always been a very consistent QB and also a very consistent Fantasy QB. Manning will once again have another Peyton type year including: 4,000 Yards and 25+ TD’s. He is the easy choice for the number 3 QB.

4. Aaron Rodgers: A breakout 2008 season showed the football world that Aaron Rodgers is for real, and cheese-heads have little reason to miss Brett Favre at this point. Rodgers passes the ball a ton, makes big plays, and can even run a little. Look for a lot of TDs out of Rodgers this season.

5. Philip Rivers: With a dangerous arsenal of talented receivers and great running backs, the San Diego Chargers offense is a well oiled machine. Rivers is an extremely talented quarterback and should lead his team to some big victories.

6. Kurt Warner – QB – Arizona Cardinals: 401/598, 4,583 Yards, 30 TD’s, 14 INT’s, 7 300 YD Games: Warner would be much higher if I were basing these rankings off last year’s numbers, but I am not. Warner really scares me because of his age and durability issues. I really think that Warner will take a bad hit and be done for most of the year in 09. But if he can stay healthy, he COULD have another great year.

7. Tony Romo: So he may choke in the playoffs, but who really cares? It’s all about the regular season, and Romo knows how to light up a football field. He’s lost Terrell Owens, but who knows, maybe it’s for the better. Roy Williams, Miles Austin, and Jason Witten will do their best to fill the gaps for Romo, who’d otherwise be ranked top 3 with the presence of Owens.

8. Jay Cutler: Cutler could go either way this year. There’s no doubt about his talent, but the concerns have more to do with the fact that his receivers simply aren’t as good in Chicago as they were with the Broncos. Then again, he has a much better running back, which may benefit him greatly.
